Tentative Ireland Itinerary
- Saturday January 10th – Fly to Ireland on an overnight flight (flight details TBD)
- Sunday January 11th – Meet up with Mickey Nolan (the greatest tour guide ever!) at the Shannon airport; head to the Cliffs of Moher on our way to the city of Limerick. With luck Fintan will have a little gig at Dolan’s in downtown Limerick.
- Monday January 12th – Drive to Kilarney (stop at Bunratty on the way [this stop will either be on Monday or Tuesday]); enjoy the city of Kilarney; Fintan will probably do some session playing at Buckley’s right around the corner from the hotel
- Tuesday January 13th – Get up early and Mickey will take us on the full tour of the Ring of Kerry – this will take all of the morning and a bit of the afternoon. Return to Kilarney in the late afternoon; Fintan will probably put together a jam session at the International Hotel where we’re staying
- Wednesday January 14th – Spend the morning at Blarney Castle; leave just after lunch and head for Waterford. Stop in Yeoll and get a Johnny Jump Up; get to Waterford just before dinner and take a fabulous walking tour of the city with an amazing and very funny tour guide we met on our last trip; evening (for those so inclined) – head to a private party at the Cozy Thatch – Ireland’s oldest wake house and pub – not to be missed!
- Thursday January 15th – Stop by Waterford Crystal in the morning and then take the coast road up through the mountains to St Kevin’s Shrine on our way to the city of Dublin. Spend the day in Dublin
- Friday January 16th – Trip to Tara/New Grange/Boyne Valley – Tara is the seat of the high kings of ancient Ireland and theirs is a stone obelisk at New Grange older than the pyramids; the rest of the day is free for sight seeing in Dublin; in the evening Fintan will put on a performance at the hotel pub; plus Mickey might do a quick driving trip of Dublin for those interested
- Saturday January 17th – Mickey will take drop everyone off at the Dublin airport and then we’ll all fly back home to the US
